Moving Day…

Imagine coming into your new home on moving day with furniture in place, clothes in the closet, TV connected, beds made and pictures hung. That is what we do at DFW Staging for Seniors!

 

 

Senior Services

 

  • Coordinate and supervise movers: Our three man team will arrive on time and hit the ground running. They will break down beds, carefully load the truck, place furniture as instructed by DFW Staging for Seniors and set up the beds. If move necessitates next day unpacking, DFW Staging for Seniors guarantees bed set up, bathroom set up for overnight grooming needs. All medications will be located and in place.

 

  • Coordinate with Estate Planner: We have estate planner referrals that can profitably liquidate items not included in the move.

 

  • Photograph inventory for records and/or disposition of property: We will photograph your book shelf and/or curio cabinet, pack it, and then unpack it so that it is set up just like you had it before. All photos are the property of the client.

 

  • New space measurements: DFW Staging for Seniors will supply you with a scale drawing of the layout of your new apartment and show where the furniture will be placed. We take into consideration any special mobility needs all the while focusing on your comfort and safety.

 

  • Oversee packing and unpacking of boxes: All routed boxes will be clearly marked with destination rooms.

 

  • Set up: We set up all rooms including kitchen, living room, bathroom, bedroom, closets, etc.

 

  • Decorating: We handle all the decorating including window treatments, picture hanging and decorative item placement with your approval. It’s that easy!

 

  • Facility research and selection assistance upon request: DFW Staging for Seniors has close working relationship with several facilities that we work with. We’ll be happy to work with you on that choice option.

 

  • Personal shopping: DFW Staging for Seniors offers professional personal shopper services.

     "After my husband passed a way, Barbara Conley, with DFW Staging Solutions, came to my home and packed away everything I had decided to take with me to my new Senior’s apartment in Fort Worth.

She was very careful and respectful of my belongings which made me trust her all the more. After the mover’s left, I realized I couldn’t put up my decorative pieces and I needed help organizing everything. I naturally called Barbara.

     We made all the decisions together and when she left a few hours later, my apartment was all set up and decorated beautifully with all my things. She found ways to group things that I had never thought of before!

     After a while I was lucky enough to find love again and married a wonderful man I had met through mutual friends. When we married and needed to meld our homes, the first person I called was Barbara.

     She was able to jump right in and make my new husband confident in trusting her with his belongings and was very pleased with the way she included him in many of the decisions. His house became our wonderful, beautiful home.

     I was dreading downsizing into an apartment but Barbara’s leading, nudging, support and humor made it an enjoyable memory. I’m settled in now with my choicest pieces. She compassionately helped me mourn the letting go of many items… but it was necessary. Had it been my own kids with me, I can’t imagine the scenes we would have played. She also helped me choose the new bath ensemble. At first I was overwhelmed by the store but once she started pulling things together for me to see, I was having a blast dreaming about what the new bath was going to be like.      After forty-one years of sharing with a man, I have the ruffles and frills I always wanted. If I get tired of them, it’ll be fun to go shopping with her again to create the next reflection of who I grow to be. I’m not in such a bad place after all.

     Don’t be fooled by companies that come in and say they’ll move you for a flat rate. Those people took advantage of me and I now know that Barbara is the real deal. I had decided to move into a senior living community here in Fort Worth, when I came across Barbara’s ad to help me move. I am embarrassed to say I chose someone else to handle my move, who offered to move me for just a few dollars less than what DFW Staging for Seniors estimated. The     old adage of “You get what you paid for,” rings true in my story.

 

     The rival company came to my house and admired my belongings, making lists just like Barbara did. However, Barbara explained her process and how she would carefully and respectfully handle my belongings. She offered to take pictures of how my shelves were set up, and put them back together just like they were. She offered to hand carry my most precious items to ensure that she would be personally responsible for their safety. The other company just gave me the flat rate and said they’d pack and move me on the date I needed.

 

     Like I said, I decided to go with someone else and what a mistake that was. The movers were “grimy’, that’s the only word for them and two of them didn’t speak English. They packed up everything and marked the boxes and moved me. The funny thing was, not all the boxes made it to my house. I truly believe they culled out the box marked “CD’s”, because that box didn’t make it to my apartment. They set all the boxes in the corner, and put furniture where they thought it would work. They set up my bed and left. I didn’t know where the box that had my sheets and blankets was! I never felt so abandoned.


     So I called Barbara and told her my story. She came to my place that evening and made my bed, found my nighttime medications for me and then arranged to come back the next day. She helped me decide how the furniture flowed better for me since I use a walker. She moved my bed to a better place in the bedroom and even put the dust ruffle on for me. She made sure my bathroom was set up to help me reach the everyday necessities and even placed a container under the sink for my cat food.

 

     Barbara Conley is the best there is! She helped me in so many ways, she even stayed “off the clock” to hang a mirror in my entry and put my fall wreath on my door for me. She is worth every penny, trust me.
